Fun day in Dublin Headquarters with 34 girls for a 2 hours workshop followed by delicious scones! - November 2014
Producer and co-ordinator of this event, held in Limerick. This is a weekend long gathering of Maractu (percussive style from North East Brazil) groups from all over Europe, celebrating the artform with the presence of Mestres (Masters) from Recife, NE Brazil. The event gathered 200 participants (drummers and dancers) from 8 differents countries representing a total of 22 different groups.
Accompanied the Vivaldi Oboe Concerto on Congas as part of "A Common Ground" a collaborative project with Tropicana Musica from Conga and the Sligo Baroque Orchestra, featuring Steve Wickham.
Stephanie 'Samba Stef' Pawula is passionate about percussion and music. Currently her main focus is Afrobrazilian and Afrocuban percussion.
She is a musician, a facilitator and an organiser.
Over the last 7 years Stephanie has facilitated workshops in schools (primary, secondary and special).
She is also collaborating with Music Generation Sligo, Sligo Leader Partnership Company, Leitrim Development Company, Artscope as a facilitator and performs with several bands as a percussionist.
The workshops Samba Stef delivers are a real hand-on experience allowing the pupils to learn an instrument as part of a group.
Each workshop are designed to complement the music curriculum, listening,responding and performing or any other request to suits the clients needs.
Drumming is an inclusive and interactive way to learn music, develop a skill and work as a group in a safe and fun environment.
